Birds Of Belize - Macaw Bank Jungle Lodge Photos

Belize is a naturalist's heaven, especially for birders. There are over 400 varieties of varieties of birds in Belize, including toucans, parrots, woodpeckers, and many more. On our 50 acre nature reserve, we have observed almost 200 speices.

The birds are active early in the morning and just before sunset.  Imagine waking to the caw of the chacalaca and the twitter of the oropendola.  In the evening you will be treated to flocks of noisy parrots returning to their homes in the canopy.

Macaw Bank Jungle Lodge has it's own menagerie.  We have rescued a toucan named Tolula.  She loves to have her picture taken.  We have two rescued parrots, a blue-crowned Amazon and a Spectacled Amazon.
